Organic Palmarosa Essential Oil, Cymbopogon martini, is steam distilled from organic palmarosa, an aromatic grass that is native to India and Asia.

Although Palmarosa shares the same family and genus as Lemongrass and Citronella, the characteristics and actions are somewhat different. Within skin care applications, Palmarosa Essential Oil can help to balance all skin types from normal to oily. Its range of properties help to support healthy, youthful looking skin. It is used in holistic aromatherapy for a number of applications including use in formulations to help calm the nervous system, help encourage a positive outlook and to help release of anger and grief.

Palmarosa is a grass, and steam distilled Palmarosa Oil possesses a sweet, grassy, floral aroma. It is often used in combination with or as a substitute for rose otto or geranium oils. Aromatically, Palmarosa blends well with rose, geranium, other florals, mandarin, other citrus oils, cedarwood, rosewood and other woody oils.

For topical formulations intended for adults, Essential Oil Safety Edition 2 by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young recommend a dermal maximum of 6.5% for Organic Palmarosa Essential Oil.
