Our Organic Ylang Ylang Extra Essential Oil is steam distilled from certified organic ylang ylang flowers, Cananga odorata. As with all of our organic ingredients, it is certified organic by CCOF.

The ylang ylang tree, sometimes also known as the cananga tree is a tree that grows in tropical climates. The vivid yellow blooms are quite unique in appearance and are highly aromatic. Although the tree goes by both the common names of Ylang Ylang and Cananga, essential oil that is commonly referred to as Cananga Essential Oil is typically less preferred and generally differs in aroma and composition.

Because of its great use in perfumery applications, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is traditionally distilled for varying lengths to produce essential oils with differing constituents and aromatic profiles. Our Organic Ylang Ylang Extra Essential Oil is the essential oil that is collected shortly after the distillation begins. It is most widely used in fragrancing applications as it tends to offer the most desired aroma of all the Ylang Ylang Essential Oil distillations.

Aromatically, Organic Ylang Ylang Extra Essential Oil possesses a beautifully exotic, fragrant, floral aroma.

Emotionally, Organic Ylang Ylang Extra Essential Oil is an uplifting essential oil that can help to support a positive mindset. It is a beautiful essential oil to add to formulations intended to dissipate fear and anger, support confidence and encourage positive thinking. It also has a reputation for acting as an aphrodisiac.

Within skin care applications, Organic Ylang Ylang Extra Essential Oil helps to support healthy skin. It can help to balance skin that may be too dry or oily, and it can be used in a facial toner to balance oily skin.

Organic Ylang Ylang Extra Essential Oil is a beautiful floral essential oil that appeals to both genders. It is wonderful to incorporate into personal care, aromatherapy, and natural fragrancing applications. It blends well with clary sage, rosewood, bergamot, vetiver, sandalwood, orange, mandarin and many other essential oils for truly exotic blends.

Organic Ylang Ylang Extra Essential Oil is very aromatic and a little can go a long way in your aromatherapy and personal care formulations. For topical formulations intended for adults, Essential Oil Safety Edition 2 by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young recommend a dermal maximum of 0.8%. Do not use with children under age 2.

Comments: I bought this oil instead of the jasmine fragrance oil because I realized that I should not be using synthetic products on my skin and instead of the jasmine absolute because I could not afford the absolute. It would be wonderful if they can sell it in even smaller portions, but I know 1/8 fl.oz is already a really small bottle I expected it to be strong but not so strong that I would be able to smell it once I opened my package, which was a nice surprise. However, I don't think the scent necessarily smells bad but it's not good too. I went around asking all my friends what they thought about it. And everyone of them didn't like it, and a few mentioned that it reminded them of their grandparents. So maybe this scent is for someone older than my generation, but certainly not for me. And now I don't know what I want to do with the oil

FNWL Response: Nancy, essential oils are highly concentrated. Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is especially strong aromatically, and is best used extremely well diluted. A little goes a long way. Smelling it straight out of the bottle can be quite a potent experience. Try blending it with other essential oils for a remarkable blend. Try blending just a hint of ylang ylang with orange, mandarin or tangerine essential oils. We are a wholesaler not a retailer, so although we do offer several sizes so that an ingredient can be tried at small sizes first, we sell mostly to artisans and manufacturers that buy in bulk, so it isn't reasonable for us to sell incredibly tiny sizes.
