Calendula is most commonly known as the pot marigold or common marigold and is noted for its vibrant petals that range in color from yellow to orange. Calendula petals have been widely used in skin care and herbalism for centuries.
Our Organic Calendula Hydrosol is meticulously produced by expert artisanal distillers who distill specifically for the hydrosol. It is not distilled as a byproduct of essential oil production. Distilled using copper alembic stills, our Organic Calendula Hydrosol possesses a pleasant calendula aroma. It does not have the unpleasant "still note" that hydrosols can have when they are produced using stainless steel equipment. Distillation using copper stills may also help the hydrosol be more resistant to microbial growth.
Organic Calendula Hydrosol possesses a light, pleasant aroma that is sweet, herbaceous and slightly floral. Calendula is well known for its remarkable ability to soothe the skin and is well suited for use with dry, itchy, irritated, damaged or problem skin. This lovely hydrosol is highly versatile and can be used for a variety of applications on its own or as an ingredient in a wide range of formulations. It can be used in facial toners, body sprays, natural fragrances and other water-based personal care and holistic aromatherapy products.
As with all of our organic ingredients, our Organic Calendula Hydrosol is certified organic by CCOF, a USDA-accredited certifying agency.

We ship our hydrosols in plastic to avoid breakage, but hydrosols should be transferred to glass as soon as possible. Like essential oils, hydrosols should be stored in a cool dry place. The shelf life of hydrosols is up to 2 years when they are stored properly. Our Organic Calendula Hydrosol does not contain any preservatives. Hydrosols can be stored in the refrigerator.
*Typical Shelf Life begins on the date of manufacture and is defined as the typical shelf life of an ingredient when it is stored and handled properly. The Typical Shelf Life is offered as a general guideline. It should not be considered to be an expiration date. Many ingredients are usable beyond the stated date, especially when stored and handled very carefully.
