Shikakai Powder

To produce our Shikakai Powder, premium quality shikakai fruit pods are dried and then ground into a fine powder. Shikakai is referred to as "fruit for the hair." It has a naturally mild pH, and it gently cleans the hair without stripping it of natural oils. Shikakai Powder can be used as a natural hair wash for sensitive scalps or to help control flakes. Shikakai Powder is said to support healthy hair growth and strong hair roots. Try this as inspiration for your formulations: combine 1 tablespoon each of Shikakai Powder, Amla Powder, Bhringraj Powder and Aritha Powder. Add them to 1 cup boiling water. Allow the infusion to sit for 10 minutes. To help support a healthy flake-free scalp, add 1 teaspoon of Neem Powder to this mixture. Add 1 teaspoon of Liquid Castile Soap to the mixture for very oily hair. Once cooled, this mixture may be used as a hair wash. Rinse well with warm water. Amla and Brahmi Oils can be spritzed for conditioning.
