Reviewed By: Angela Posted: Thursday, November 20, 2014 Location: Chula Vista, CA Comments: Unfortunately, this melt and pour base made the soaps very drying. It left a soap film on my skin. I might try another melt and pour base with olive oil to check if there is a difference. FNWL Response: Hi Angela, overheating melt and pour soap bases or keeping it on the stove longer than it takes to melt it can dry out the soap and cause moisture loss. (It's also best not to microwave melt and pour soap, though some people do have successful results when doing it carefully and in short bursts.) This could be the reason for your results. We strongly encourage you to heat your melt and pour soap at a low temperature, using a double boiler. We offer a double boiler insert in our Equipment section if you need one.
