Reviewed By: Tina Posted: Wednesday, March 7, 2012 Location: Fertile, MN Comments: The cocoa butter melt and pour is without a doubt amazing! My customers really like the olive oil soap and I am sure that this will be a huge hit, especially with the fragrance oils that I just purchased.
Reviewed By: Akilah Posted: Monday, May 9, 2011 Location: Mesa, AZ Comments: I tried using the Cocoa Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base for the first time and it formed a skin before the individual cubes even melted all the way so when I poured it into the mold i ended up with skin chunks in my soap... and it was a little bit drying the first few times I used it!! But after a few washes it became less drying, and still has an ok lather... I think I would give it another try though!!!! FNWL Response: Akilah, from your description, it sounds like you're heating the soap base at too high a temperature and/or leaving it on the stove too long without stirring. Use a double boiler to gently heat the base, and stir frequently. Don't leave the base heating on the stove after it's fully melted or it will dry out and form a skin.
Reviewed By: Mark Posted: Wednesday, December 29, 2010 Location: Decatur, IN Comments: Very hard to work with. Skins over very fast. FNWL Response: Mark, I frequently work with our M&P bases and I do NOT experience the situation you describe and other customers aren't expressing the same situation. It sounds like you're overheating the bases. Try melting them at a lower setting and be sure you are using a double boiler. As an added tip, avoid using the microwave as that can dry out the soap.
