1 oz aloe vera Gel
1 oz glycerin
14 oz distilled water
Oil phase:
1.5 oz stearic acid
2 oz emulsifying wax
4 oz meadowfoam seed oil
.5 oz shea butter
Additives:
1 Tbsp fragrance oil or essential oil
1 Tsp vitamin E oil
1 Tsp grapefruit seed extract
2 Tbsp cornmeal
3 Tbsp pumice powder
1 Tbsp apricot kernel meal

Instructions:

Mix ingredients for water phase and set aside. Melt oil/butter and wax in double boiler. Hold at 175 degrees for 20 minutes. Add the water phase very slowly while mixing until it becomes thick and creamy. Add fragrance or essential oil, Vitamin E and grapefruit seed extract and mix some more. Add cornmeal, pumice and apricot kernel meal and mix to incorporate. You can add more or less water depending on thickness desired. Pour into clean sterilized jars and let cool completely before capping. Produces a very nice lotion based scrub and can be used on the entire body but is very nitty gritty.
