The recommended maximum dermal limit for Bergamot Essential Oil that has not had the furanocoumarins removed is only 0.4% according to Robert Tisserand in Essential Oil Safety Edition 2. Because it has had the phototoxic furanocoumarins removed, our Organic Bergamot Essential Oil FCF can be used at higher percentages in topical applications.
