Rhatany Root CO2 Total Extract, also known as Krameria Root Total CO2 Extract, is obtained by supercritical fluid extraction using carbon dioxide as the solvent. Less than 2% alcohol (ethanol) is added as an entrainer. The extract is standardized using Organic Olive Oil.

Rhatany, Krameria lappacea, is a small perennial shrub with distinctive pink and red flowers. The roots of the plant contain lignans that offer numerous benefits within personal care and cosmetic applications.

Rhatany Root CO2 Total Extract is a thick, brownish orange extract with a mild, pleasant, earthy aroma. It contains the CO2-soluble lipophilic compounds, including 20-30% lignans.

Rhatany Root CO2 Total Extract is well suited for a wide array of skin and hair care applications and is especially well suited for formulations intended to support maturing skin. We encourage you to research the numerous benefits of this incredibly beneficial extract.

Please Note: This CO2 Extract is typically used in conjunction with or in place of vegetable oils or vegetable butters within product formulations. Although it has a characteristic aroma, it should not be considered a substitute for essential oils, volatile CO2 extracts or natural aromatic ingredients that are primarily utilized for their volatile, aromatic components.
