Our Organic Vetiver Essential Oil is distilled from the roots of Vetiveria zizanioides, a highly aromatic grass that grows and is cultivated in tropical climates. As with all of our organic ingredients, it is certified organic by CCOF.
Organic Vetiver Essential Oil is an amber colored, thick essential oil. Aromatically, it possesses a subtle but sweet, smoky, resin-like aroma. Emotionally, it is very grounding, balancing and relaxing. Many love the essential on its own, but it really shines when blended with other oils. It acts as a natural fixative for other aromatics in aromatherapy and perfumery applications. Organic Vetiver Essential Oil blends beautifully with many other essential oils including those in the citrus, wood and spice families.
For topical formulations intended for adults, Essential Oil Safety Edition 2 by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young recommend a dermal maximum of 15% for Organic Vetiver Essential Oil.
