Our Sweet Fennel Essential Oil is produced by steam distilling the seeds of Foeniculum vulgare dulce, an aromatic herb that possesses a sweet, anise-like aroma somewhat similar to licorice.

Sweet Fennel Essential Oil can be especially helpful when used in formulations intended to support a healthy digestive system.

Within formulations intended for emotional support, Fennel Essential Oil is a stimulating yet balancing oil that can help support mental focus and clarity.

Aromatically, Sweet Fennel Essential Oil is a middle note. It possesses a sweet, anise-like aroma and is often used in natural perfumery to help round out aromatic blends. It blends especially well with other essential oils in the citrus, mint, wood and spice families.

Essential Oil Safety Edition 2 by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young indicate that Fennel Essential Oil should be avoided with children and is contraindicated in pregnancy, breastfeeding, endometriosis and estrogen-dependent cancers. For topical formulations intended for adults, they recommend a dermal maximum of 2.5%.
