Henna was considered to be a highly beneficial, therapeutic herb by the ancient Egyptians. It was used as a cooling, astringent herb for the skin and hair with numerous additional benefits. Henna Leaf Powder has a bright orange color which transfers to the hair and skin. It, therefore, has been used to decorate and tattoo the skin or to color and highlight the hair. Henna Leaf Powder was traditionally made into a paste with hot water and then applied to the hair or stenciled onto the skin. When infused in oil, Henna Leaf Powder imparts the oil with a beautiful, rich orange color. The infused oil can be used to naturally color soaps.

Note: Our Henna Powder is 100% pure and fresh.

Comments: I last purchased this henna in 2007 and the quality was outstanding- no grit, easy application and excellent dye release. Not so on my recent purchase. The product was extremely gritty with poor dye release. Not purchasing this henna for use on my hair again.

FNWL Response: Cecily, we're sorry that you aren't pleased with our current lot of henna powder. We always strive to source the purest and most natural ingredients at the fairest prices. Our present lot of Henna Powder is the purest henna that we have found available at present. The current climate, soil conditions and other natural factors can affect the consistency and color of natural products including henna powder. Additionally, some henna powders on the market have better dye release because other dyes and additives have been added to the henna.

Comments: This is the best Henna Leaf Powder I've found. I use it in hair treatments for a small clientele. I also use it for myself and family, who all have locs. I use natural herbs known for color to my formulations. Fantastic results!

Comments: This henna was really good. I have thick, 4-type afro textured hair and I used this as a conditioner and curl loosener. It really works. I have only used it once, but I am very pleased.

Comments: This is the worst henna I have ever used. It was so grainy and no dye release what so ever. I had so many twigs in my kinky hair it was a disaster. I mean no disrespect but this henna was horrible quality.

FNWL Response: Courtney, we regret that you didn't like our Henna. Because you haven't ordered henna from us in over 6 months and because there aren't any twigs in our Henna Powder, we're wondering if it's possible you might have confused our Henna with that of another supplier. Indeed, our Henna Powder doesn't have the strongest dye release compared to some others because our Henna Powder does not contain added dyes.
