Comments: This fragrance is very true to pure maple syrup and awesome in most products, but did not hold up in cold process soap, even with cool oils and a significant water discount to control gel intensity. It flashed almost completely, leaving a very faint sort of nuttiness, but nothing you'd call maple. I soaped 2 10-lb batches, the first with 5oz of fragrance and the second with 8oz, hoping that it was a matter of low concentration of the fragrance itself as is often the case with FNWL fragrances but nope, it appears to be a low flash issue. Aside from losing scent strength significantly, it did not accelerate trace and oxidized to a perfect creamy maple candy color after a couple days on the shelf. So far the second batch is not sweating vanillin like so many overscented sweet fragrances tend to do. In other words, it soaped perfectly. Just wish I could smell it! And I'm pregnant, on top of being a human bloodhound.
FNWL Response: Hi Amanda, thanks very much for your detailed feedback. We will be speaking with our chemists to determine if the fragrance can be strengthened for use in high temperature applications, and we'll contact you with our findings.

Comments: I just made my 2nd batch of maple cold press soap and everything came out just as fabulous as the first batch. Love the smell, and the soap looks wonderful! I will be ordering from you again.
