Summary:
Exceptionally elegant gift soap. Great way to put the FNWL 4 oz. butter sampler sets to use.
Ingredients:
BUTTERS/OIL: 4.0 oz Cocoa Butter
1.6 oz Coconut Oil
4.0 oz Mango Butter
3.2 oz Sal Butter
3.2 oz Shea Butter
LYE/LIQUID 2.4 oz Lye (NaOH)
5.7 oz Buttermilk (goat's or whole milk) powder in water
SUPERFAT 0.2 oz Nutmeg Butter (1%)
SCENT: Nutmeg EO
Vanilla EO
Instructions:
This makes a few, medium sized elegant gift bars, depending on the molds used. Use a decorative but sturdy set of molds to ladel in the raw soap. ~ Combine lye and liquid, stir well. Set aside and to cool (100° F to 125° F).
~ Combine oils and melt. Allow to cool (100° F to 125° F).
~ Pour lye/liquid solution into melted oils in thin steady stream. Stir until trace. Can use stick blender intermittently, but for no more than one minute at a time -- then go back to spoon. Should trace quite quickly. Don't over-stir beyond trace.
~ Pour raw soap into your prepared molds. ~ After 48 hours, the soap can be turned out of the mold. Allow to cure for 3 weeks. Place the bars on something that will allow air to circulate all around (or flip bars every few days).
